Dr Alina Zeldovich is an experienced cataract surgeon and comprehensive ophthalmologist, renowned for her expertise in performing cataract surgery in patients with co-existing and often complex eye conditions such as glaucoma and retinal disease. She has performed thousands of cataract operations and provides high-level care across a wide spectrum of ophthalmic conditions.

In 2016, Dr Zeldovich co-founded Beamers, a company dedicated to protecting children’s eye health by creating high-quality, maximally protective sunglasses designed to reduce ocular UV exposure.

Dr Zeldovich completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 1997. She was awarded the inaugural Filipic–Greer Medal in 2005 and went on to complete ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital. In 2006, she undertook further fellowship training in glaucoma, medical retina and cataract surgery, expanding her expertise in managing medically and surgically complex eye disease. She continues to advance her skills through ongoing professional development in areas such as laser cataract surgery and emerging surgical technologies, collaborating with colleagues nationally and internationally.

A Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), Dr Zeldovich appears on the College Honour Roll and currently serves as Vice Chair of the NSW branch. She was also co-convenor of the 2019 RANZCO Congress. She is an active member of both the Australian and American Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and has contributed educational updates for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the World Ophthalmology Congress.

Dr Zeldovich is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney Medical School and is deeply involved in teaching, research and scientific engagement. She has authored peer-reviewed research papers and book chapters, serves on scientific organising committees and regularly presents at ophthalmology and GP conferences.

Her clinical practice is shaped by precision, compassionate care and a commitment to delivering the highest standard of cataract and comprehensive ophthalmic treatment.
